Your menstrual cycle and what it means for your workouts

We don’t often talk about how our menstrual cycle affects us. We all know the pain and discomfort of having our period but we don’t often talk about this when it comes to exercise.

I didn’t see any results so I stopped. ^ is thi I didn’t see any results so I stopped.

^ is this the reason you’ve put your workouts on hold?

There are a couple of reasons why this could be the case:

1 - you didn’t give it enough time and consistency.

You probably know that consistency is key and to allow for this you must give it time.

So if you’ve been doing something for a couple of weeks and not notice a different you need to give it more time to allow your body to adapt.

2 - did you have the right strategy in place to work for you?

Or was it a huge struggle from the beginning. For example you could be forcing yourself to workout early in the morning before work when you’re not a morning person. You may not be getting enough sleep and this can massively effect your results.

3 - are you enjoying it?

Yes you are not going to enjoy every single squat or push up 😂.

But overall you should look forwards to your workouts and especially that feeling afterwards.

If you hate it (like seriously hate it) you may get results in the short term but what about the long term?

Are you not seeing any results? Drop me a dm and we can figure out why 🙂!
Are you always stopping and starting a different e Are you always stopping and starting a different exercise programme every couple of months??

Feeling frustrated that you just can’t find something that is going to stick?

Let me tell you aren’t alone! In my job as a PT I’ve spoken to so many people that have this issue.

Let me tell you what the issue isn’t...
❌Your lack of commitment.
❌That you are just too lazy.
❌That you can’t do it because you’re not good enough.

^^ None of these are true, but you’ve probably told yourself that they are.

So what is going to help you finally stick to something?

Well its going to take a couple of things….
💕You having an honest conversation with yourself and asking for help if you need it.
💕Finding something that you love to do and will look forwards to doing.
💕Having the right support to help keep you going. This could be from a coach, your friends/family or community.

If you’re ready to take that next step to getting something that is going to stick dm the word ‘strategy’. I will help get you started for FREE 🤗.
Stop comparing your day 1 to someone else’s day Stop comparing your day 1 to someone else’s day 100.

It’s great when you get get inspiration from others. However there is the flip side when you think I won’t be able to do that so what’s the point?

We are so stuck in worrying about the final result we often forget that the journey and how we get there is the most important part.

It’s also the part that will determine whether or not you will succeed in your goal.

Your journey is your own and how you will get there will most likely be different to someone else’s.

If you’ve tried a ‘cookie cutter programme’ and it didn’t work for you this is probably the reason why. It was designed for someone else in mind and not for you.

So before you start comparing stop and think.... this is my journey and I need to do it in a way that will work for me and me alone.

Need help getting started? Drop me a dm.
